The Big MMR Catch-Up

With WHO announcing recently that there could be a resurgence of measles in Europe this year, NHSE are focusing on measles as a preventable disease, and specifically the MMR vaccine.

There is a clear commitment within the NHS Long-Term Plan (LTP) to increase uptake in the MMR immunisation programme to meet the WHO target of 95% coverage with two doses of MMR vaccine by age 5 years. This is essential in order to regain and maintain measles elimination status for the UK and prevent measles outbreaks from occurring.
